Romeo states, “How now, Balthasar? Dost thou not bring me letters from the friar? How doth my lady? Is my father well? How fares my Juliet? That I ask again, for nothing can be ill if she be will” (Rom., 5.1.12-16). Balthasar then tells Romeo what he saw, “Her body sleeps in Capel’s monument, and her immortal part with angel lives. I saw her laid low in her kindred’s vault” (Rom., 5.1.18-20). These two passages describe the conversation between Romeo and his servant as Balthasar got back from Verona. The wedding being moved did kill Romeo because if the wedding was on Thursday, like it was planned, the letter from the friar would reach Romeo. This would of happened because the delivered of the letter, Friar John, would of been out of quarantine by then and still have enough time to get to Romeo. To conclude, William Shakespeare’s work of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet illustrates how one mistake can kill many people, he showed how it affected Friar Lawrence’s, Juliet’s emotional status, and Romeo’s decision making. Throughout this essay I have been showing why this one decision by Lord Capulet changed everything. From his daughter to his enemies son, and everyone in between. Don’t keep secrets from your parents, for they can kill you in the long
