There are many people you could blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, but one might also say the two households are responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. An example of how the capulets play a part in this is when lady capulet says “Marry that ‘marry’ is the very theme I came to talk of. Tell me, daughter Juliet, how stands your disposition to get married”(Line fourteen, Act one Scene three, and Document B), the person one would blame in this quote would be the families(Capulet). This shows Lady Capulet is trying to pressure Juliet into getting married. Even after juliet says that she does not want to get married, her mother keeps pushing her into getting married by asking if she can “like of Paris’ love”( Line twenty four, Act …show more content…
An example of when it is Friar Laurence’s fought is when he married off Romeo and Juliet. This is what Friar Laurence tells Romeo: “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households rancor to pure love”( Line two, Act two, Scene six, and document C),the person one would blame in this quote would be Friar Laurence. What Friar Laurence is saying to Romeo is that he is not marrying him and Juliet together for the sake of love, instead he is marrying them for the sake of stopping the family feud. One other example of the blame going towards Friar Laurence is when he gives Juliet the drug to make her fall asleep for several days. If he had not given Juliet the drug to fall asleep for several days then there is a chance Romeo and Juliet could have survived. Also Friar Laurence was not quick enough to get to tell him of Juliet’s situation. What Friar Laurence said was: “Unhappy fortune! By my brotherhood, The letter was not nice but full of charge. Of dear import, and the neglecting it. May do such danger…”(Line three, Act five, Scene three, Document E), the person would would blAme in this quote would be Friar Laurence. As one can see, Friar Laurence does not make very rational decisions, this gets him into a tremendous amount of trouble by the end of the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. If Friar Laurence were to have stopped Juliet from taking the dagger away from Romeo then he could have left with Juliet and kept her from killing

In every tragic event, we look to a person, or group of people, to blame for the disaster. Someone must always be at fault, whether it be Mother Nature, a president, or in this case, family. Romeo and Juliet were controlled by more than an unmerciful fate; many little events combined to influence what would become of the young lovers. Their [Romeo and Juliet] title of "star-crossed" lovers sealed their fates, and while both families and outside forces did not help matters, the inevitable would have happened. The protagonists can blame themselves as well; however, if it were not for the Montague and Capulet family feuds, the whole mess would not have even started, though that feud is what makes the story.…

In Conclusion, I think that Romeo is a young, inexperienced and impatient but loyal and brave boy. I think that his naivety plays a huge rule in this because love was taken as an extravagant feeling to have when it was not truly happy as the lovers can experience heartbreak and many other obstacles. It seems as if Romeo only more cautious and deliberate, his devastating ending could have been prevented (even though we have not finished the book yet). Amongst friends especially Mercutio, Romeo shows signs of his social and quick witted persona, even with his fond of verbal jousting that is mainly about sex. Lastly, Romeo is like every other male in the world who only unveils their true self to the people who they trust or who understand them.…
