I’m thinking that the reason the whole thing is the way it is, is because of “fate” and character flaws. Now, some people may think that “Oh, no, it’s because of Romeo and Juliet for keeping secrets and being so dumb!”, but, I feel like that only happened because of their flaws as characters. A lot of the main characters have flaws that, in the end, are the real reason that everything’s sad. Oh, yeah, fate too, I’ll talk about that too, but, let’s move on to the more important one.
Alright, let’s start on talking about character flaws. A big character flaw that’s pretty obvious is the whole “Love at first sight” syndrome Romeo and Juliet have. It’s a dumb and unrealistic way to have a romance, because it’s instant, no thought, just “Oh, they love each other” and it’s only for looks. Fate might have been the reason Romeo and Juliet fell in love instantly, so, Romeo and Juliet would instantly love each other, having no time to get to know each other, so, they can kill themselves for each other, before Juliet’s married to Paris. Maybe the reason everyone kept secrets is so that it could go along with fate, leading the characters to follow the path they end up with, along with having a sense of irony through out the story, with only the reader and a few characters knowing about the marriage.
