In Romeo and Juliet, most of the hate between characters are created from the last names and the parents teach them that this is the right thing to do and that it will bring honor to their name. Due to the hate for the name and the desire to protect their family’s honor, tragedy is insured. Even though Tybalt has never met Benvolio before, he hates him so much that he starts a fight.
A s a result of the families feuding, Romeo and Juliet feel like they can’t reveal their relationship to their parents without having extreme consequences which lead to many problems including their suicides. In Act 2 Scene 2 Romeo goes to visit Juliet but Juliet is worried about his safety. “ How camest thou hither, tell me, and wherefore?
The orchard walls are high and hard to climb,
And the place death, considering who thou art,
If any of my kinsmen find thee here” Juliet is worried that if Romeo is spotted by her family they might kill him or gravely injure
