In the end Romeo and Juliet both end up dead as the result of suicide. But the final scene is not exactly the same in all the stories. The original text and 1968 being alike Romeo sees Juliet appearing to be dead and can not see how or why he’d want to live without her. In result he kisses Juliet one final time and then takes his life by drinking poison. Before long Juliet wakes and sees that Romeo is dead. She knows that she can not go on without him so im attempt to die of the same poison that her lover did she trys to kiss the poison off of Romeo's lips. Juliet fails so she goes to her last resort and stabs herself. Of course in the 1996 Romeo once again sees Juliet and thinks she's dead so he then drinks the poison but right before the poison kicks in Juliet awakens and he sees that she really isn’t dead. But it is too late. Juliet is so devastated when Romeo dies that she grabs a gun and kills herself. As it can be seen there are some differences between William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet the 1968 movie and Romeo and Juliet the 1996 movie but generally speaking the tale of Romeo and Juliet stays true to itself in all
