The two versions of Romeo and Juliet 1.1 are different in the comedy aspect. The first and older version achieves the comic relief from various puns from the beginning of the play, such as “coals” to “colliers” and “choler” to “collars”. There are many people you could blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, but one might also say the two households are responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. An example of how the capulets play a part in this is when lady capulet says “Marry that ‘marry’ is the very theme I came to talk of. Tell me, daughter Juliet, how stands your disposition to get married”(Line fourteen, Act one Scene three, and Document B), the person one would blame in this quote would be the families(Capulet). This shows Lady Capulet is trying to pressure Juliet into getting married. Even after juliet says that she does not want to get married, her mother keeps pushing her into getting married by asking if she can “like of Paris’ love”( Line twenty four, Act…

The first two acts of Romeo and Juliet contains many clear aspects of a comedy including an obstacle and a compilation. By having two of the four aspects of a comedy in the first two acts, the audience is led to believe the play is a comedy and a tragedy. It would be logical to believe that a discovery and celebration, the other two aspects of a comedy, would show up in the remainder of the play. The first two acts are a comedy because of the aspects of a comedy that they contain.…

The dire fate of many of the people in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is influenced by the temperament of some of the characters. After the wedding, Romeo kills the cousin of Juliet during a duel and is punished with banishment. Juliet fakes her own death and Romeo kills himself in response. If Romeo was not desperate and dramatic, the deaths of Mercutio, Tybalt, Paris, Juliet, Lady Montague, and himself would never occur.…

Romeo and Juliet are both immature, as shown by their interpretation of their love. They believe that their first love is who they are meant to be with, and the fall in love far too quickly, in Act 1 Scene 4. This scene shows immaturity because both of them believe they are deeply in love, when they only had one moment together. Romeo is especially immature, in that he forgets Rosaline so quickly, and moves on without realising his mistake of falling in love to quickly. This immaturity leads to the proclaiming of their love for one another on the balcony, and eventually their hasty marriage, in Act 2 Scene 2 and Act 2 Scene 6.…

The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is the tale of two star-crossed lovers and how their love had ended in a tragic way. This story is most often seen as a tragedy, because of the title and because the two lovers had killed themselves over each other. The aspects people overlook is the fact that Romeo and Juliet is truly a comedy rather than a tragedy. This story can be seen as a comedy because of Mercutio’s character, Paris, and the sense of humor within the play. Bringing comic relief and levity to even the most serious of situations, Mercutio adds a sense of comedy into the play, Paris is one of many characters that transitions this story into a comedy, and the adult humor within the text adds a sense of humor within…
