The Butterfly Effect… What is the Butterfly Effect? The butterfly effect is “the idea, used in chaos theory, that a very small difference in the initial state of a physical system can make a significant difference to the state at some later time”, that would be the definition according to Dictionary.com. This means that everything that Tybalt did affected the way he is killed and why he died the way he did. Tybalt’s death should put blame on Tybalt himself for the following reasons, Tybalt kills Mercutio with little to no regret or contrition , also Tybalt challenges Romeo to a duel twice, and another rationale would be Tybalt’s fragile masculinity and him also thinking and acting as if is superior than everyone around him at all times. Among those points there are more things that had a role in his death, one being when Romeo tries to talk to him and tell him that he didn’t wish to hurt him now that they are family and that he loved him like that but, Tybalt didn’t want to listen. Tybalt has himself to blame for his own death. Tybalt killing Mercutio is yet another reason why Tybalt has himself to blame for his own death. Tybalt was very egotistical, he was always presenting himself as better than the people around him, making him not very well liked. That also caused him to instigate fights that he should not be in one being him and Mercutio which he later ended up killing, making him even less admirable than how little he already was. Another being the one where he challenges Romeo and later ended up getting killed even though Romeo told him he loved him as much as his own name. But Tybalt’s hatred and anger got him killed.
