In the ancient world, major power grew due to Rome’s location and government and that there were stories about Rome. The Tiber River in Italy was where the city of Rome was built. The river brought fresh water and it made Rome grow and live. There were stories that say how Rome was founded. One of the stories is called the Aeneid while the other was about Romulus and Remus. The Aeneid was a story about a warrior called Aeneas, and he fled away from the Trojan war and settled in Italy. His descendants, Romulus and Remus were raised by a wolf when they were babies. When they grew up, they decided to build their city where they were raised, the Tiber River. The magistrates, Roman Senate, and the assemblies and tribunes are the three parts of the government. However, the most powerful one is the magistrates or the consuls. They controlled the tripartite, army, and decide if the people were guilty or not on court cases. They were elected only for one year and had the potential to control the citizens and other people that served in the government. The second government is that Roman Senate. They guide the magistrates and served forever. They also did business to make money. The last government that is common is the assemblies and tribunes. They get to start wars, agree or disagree with the laws, and vote for officials.
