Ancient Rome was in the dead center of one of largest empires in history . With its center being in today’s more modern Italy the Roman Empire conquered the all of the Mediterranean and spread to the Middle East, Northern Africa, Western and Central Europe. It reached the peak of its power between 100 and 200 A.D. then the Roman Empire began to crumble because it became too big to control. The West Roman Empire ended in 476 A.D. when German tribes were invading, the East Roman Empire continued to exist for many years.
The ancient Romans took control and their language, Latin, became the basis for many other European languages. Governments and legal systems in the western world were founded on Roman law. The ancient Romans were the first to build bridges, concrete roads and a sewage system that took wastewater away from houses.

By researching each of these nations, a lot of similarities evolve, almost as if the United States is an altered mirror image of Ancient Rome. these civilizations held a great military strength that may be attributed to the success of each part of rome. No other country has been in charge culturally, economically, technologically, and in the military in the history of the world since the Roman Empire. The U S A has the image of a huge empire, If you were to take a citizen of the current day United States and put them in Ancient Rome, you would feel that person would notice that life would not be that much different than today. One characteristic that is in both U S A and Rome was the role of the wealthy in a community . Rome and North America don't have a caste system, one's life may be determined by the wealth of the kids parents. The U S A is technically a uncovered Roman empire that has a lot of the same rules and laws just a little bit
