Some of the writing styles that he used were similes, metaphors, personification, and subline’s. One of the main writing styles that lord Byron used were similes, similes are a direct comparison of dissimilar things using like or as. The similes give the reader a better visual on what he is talking about. Another style of writing that Byron used frequently was metaphors, a metaphor is a comparison of dissimilar things, in which one thing is spoken of as if it were another kind of thing. These give the reader of better understanding on how things are different. Also he uses personification which is my favorite style of writing. Personification keeps the reader involved because it’s entertaining, in the poems Byron gives life to inanimate objects. The final type of writing is a sublime. A sublime is a sense of power in nature that escapes human understandings. This relates to the theme because it shows now nature is prized. Throughout the many different types of poems that Byron wrote there were many different beliefs of romanticism. In the poem She walks in beauty Byron says “She walks in beauty, like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies” (1). Imagery is a descriptive language that re-creates a sensory experience. In the poem Ozymandias Shelley uses the egyptian statue to show us how that if you worry about others too much the things you care about will fall apart. He doesn't realize that his statue is falling apart until it’s almost gone. In Ode to the West Wind Shelley uses the character to symbolize the wind. Through the poem the character wants to be the wing and fly. In To a Skylark the men are on a journey and they come to an iceberg. The men realize that they would have to go around the whole iceberg to reach their destination. The man makes a horrible decision and shoots the skylark, for the rest of the story the man has to live with the skylark around his neck and all the crew members die. The skylark symbolizes a angel and she is the reason that the guy doesn’t die. In Shelley's poems there were were two types of romantic beliefs shown, the first was self reflection is necessary for personal development, and also that humans are essentially good. In the poem Ozymandias Shelley says“Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair, nothing besides remains” (11). This is showing that his statue is in ruins, it’s this way because he was too busy worrying about others and he wasn’t paying attention to his own things. This is ans example of the romantic belief that self reflection is necessary for personal development. Also in the poem to
