The Tower of Hercules was a roman tower and lighthouse, that is estimated to be built at the end of the 1st century or starting the 2nd century, and it is famous because it is the only roman lighthouse left that is still working. It had the job to guide sailors, to seek for the approach of enemies and to see the boats that crossed to get to England.
The tower has suffered some modifications during the years but from its primitive and original aspect we still conserve the inside.
The tower is up on a cliff, 60 meters above the Atlantic Ocean, with an altitude of 59 meters.
