The soldier is wearing his helmet, a dagger, sandals, and shoulders plates. Augustus created the Roman Army by allowing the men to volunteer for the army they served in the army for 25 years. Giving the men a choice on whether or not they wanted to join the army allowed them to build a strong army because it showed who was willing to fight for their country.
