Roman Gods In Greek Mythology

Mythology is something that fascinates many. Coming from many places such as Rome, Greece, Japan and many more places. Greek mythology focuses on the gods and how things came to be. Further into time the Romans adapted these gods, stories, and ideals. Greek mythology has different names for the gods, real world allusions, and difference appearances of the gods.
First is the gods names. Names vary between both mythologies and some are shared. Both the names of greek gods and their roman counterpart are well-known, but its the roman names that appear more regularly. That is a later topic though. The main gods in greek roman mythology while the same beings had different names. The main 12 and their roman counterparts are Zeus/Jupiter, Poseidon/Neptune, Ares/Mars, Athena/Minerva, Aphrodite/Venus, Hera/Juno, Hades/Pluto, Hestia/Vesta, Hermes/Mercury, Hephaestus/Vulcan, Apollo/Apollo, Artemis/Diane. Now to something more modern.
Second is modern day appearances. There are many examples for both sides so i’ll focus on about two or three from each. On the greek side

The Romans preferred not to picture their gods as much as the greeks. But usually if they were to be depicted they would be what the ancient thought the ideal person looked like. The gods would be muscular and usually bearded for the male gods. The females would be the ideal woman for the olden people.
Just as you would’ve thought something that was adapted from different people turned out slightly different but it did have many similarities. Greek mythology has different names, real world allusions, and the appearances of the gods and goddesses. So from the many different names the gods have to companies naming themselves after the god or planets being given the names or the ideal person being the representation of the gods. Those were some similarities and differences between the roman and greek
