Gladiators had ninety percent chance of survival because they were treated with the best medical care for injuries from renowned Roman doctors for their treatment of flesh wounds. However, with internal injuries, the doctors can’t save them, resulting in inevitable death. For a proper burial, burial clubs are formed to pay for their comrades killed. Much of the information of the lives of gladiators come from their tombstones. On them were details like age, origin, fight history, popularity. They definitely had families, wives, children, and were sometimes compensated. A win paid the same as a Roman soldier’s annual salary and two victories could have the ability to afford more luxurious accommodation in gladiator school.

In the video, the quarry had visitors after 10 months, one of the visitors was a lanista, an owner of a school of gladiators, was looking for new recruits for the arena with his trainer. Priscus and Verus fought and were taken to Rome where the school was. After they took a bath, they swore total obedience to the lanista at the school, which was the oath of gladiators.
