For Romans, family was the one of the most vital thing. It didn’t matter how big or small their family was, they always lived altogether. The family included all unmarried sons and daughters, as well as married sons and their wives. The family was ruled by the paterfamilias. This was always the oldest male in the family. Most ate a light breakfast, and a snack at mid-day - perhaps bread and cheese, or boiled eggs and salad. They would then have a huge dinner. Dinner was a main event starting in the afternoon. They would lie on their sides on a couch and be served by the servants. The Romans ate with their hands and would wash their hands often during diner. According to the thoughtco, typical food would have been bread. beans, fish, vegetables, cheese, and dried fruit. They ate little meat. There were variety of food in fancy sauces for the rich. How the food looked was just as necessary as the taste. Some of the food they ate would seem very strange to us.
Most of the clothing worn in Ancient Rome was made of wool which the women spun. However, the salves spun the clothes for the wealthier people. The wealthier people could buy any types of clothes like rare materials such as linen from Egypt, cotton from India and silk from China.
