After reading through the textbook and viewing the content in units five and six, I am prepared to choose a side in this large debate. To begin, many people argue that the fall of the Roman Empire could not have been avoided, but for many reasons, I believe it could have. The Romans definitely could have made some better decisions, but often times, things don’t last forever. Any evidence of Rome’s decline can also be seen as evidence of its adaptability. During the time, Romans were transforming and adapting; they were evolving.
