Division of the Roman Empire
What led to the division of the Roman Empire? The Roman Empire had grown exceptionally through the years, this growth was so prominent that it was no longer accessible to govern all of it from the primary seat of Rome. Emperor Diocletian decided to divide the empire into halves. One half being Eastern Empire given to Byzantium and the other half being Western Empire governed from Rome.
