The importance of concrete for mankind is so huge

that hard to really appreciate

so it is not surprising that people living today in concrete houses,

driving on concrete roads don't have even an idea that they owe it

to ancient Romans.

Even that in case of arch they not discovered all by themselves We can

be grateful for Romans that they not wasted legacies of

earlier generations respected it and learned from them with Greek

philosophy also secrets of architecture.

I like to think about ancient Romans as these which made

concrete foundation literally and not literally for European and later

also, other parts of the world even if they weren't perfect.

History of Europe and world is a history of so many walls since

these first solid Roman concrete walls which

made their new colonies so much safe,

later archers on the walls of castles in medieval Europe

which defended it so many times, walls during world war 2

that dividing Berlin after, to the modern story about wall on a border of USA with

Mexico.

This invention still played such important role in history and also in

white people minds after Romans learned how to build solid walls.

Maybe because of it Europe became such strong continent

too in the medieval and later cause of its castle walls were

so difficult to conquer.

These solid walls to which Rome gave beginning

shaped, and also changed mentality and attitude of

Europeans maybe even to today.

Aqueducts which made able great cities of Rome to become

even greater ancient metropolises

were one of the most important and greatest achievements with

the concrete of the Roman
