The Rolling Stones have been a major band since 1962 releasing 51 albums and hundreds of songs. The band started out in 1962 in London. The original line-up consisted of Mick Jagger born July 26, 1943 (age 73 years)(lead vocals), Keith Richards born December 18, 1943 (age 72 years)(lead guitar, backing vocals), Brian Jones February 28, 1942 (rhythm guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart born July 18, 1938 (piano) Charlie Watts born June 2, 1941 (age 75 years) (drums) , and Bill Wyman born October 24, 1936 (age 80 years) (bass) making him the oldest member of the group by 5 years. In 1963 Ian Stewart was dismissed from the lineup and became the road manager and continued to be the pianist up until he sadly died in 1985 of a heart attack. He is often overlooked when people discuss the Rolling Stones now a days. He’s often referred to now as “The Forgotten Stone” because he was mostly behind the scenes. June 7th 1963 the band releases their first single, a Chuck Berry cover, "Come On." The single reached #21 on the UK singles chart. They also change there name to “The Rolling Stones”. They released their second single in Autumn of 1963 another cover this one by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, "I Wanna Be Your Man." The single reaches #12 on the UK singles chart. On April 16th 1964 the Rolling stones released their first album in the United Kingdom called “The Rolling Stones” The band later released there album in the United States reaching #11 on the Billboard’s album chart. The album was retitled to “The Rolling Stones, England's Newest Hitmakers.” That June they tour the United states for the first time and appear on the television shows The Ed Sullivan Show and The Hollywood Palace. They release their second album that October called 12 X 5 they only release this album in the United states. The band gets there first number one song in the United Kingdom called “It’s All
