Part 3: Practical Research
Although I have tried my best to make my roller coaster model close to the real one, I have to admit that there are a number of features which could not be revealed in the model. In this part of the research, I will pay attention to some details of design of real roller coasters and further research on some roller coaster of new types. Composition
Generally speaking, a complete roller coaster system contains several sub-systems, which include lifting system, braking system, track system computer operating system and so on. Here I will illustrate two main sub-systems of roller coasters: lifting system and braking system.
1.lifting system:
The lifting system is utilized when the train is required to be lifted up to

The majority of the parts of roller coaster are also designed to ensure its safety, although most passengers cannot notice the existence of these designs.
1. wheels assembly:
For a roller coaster, the function of the wheels is not only allowing the train to move forward, but also sticking the train tightly on the track in order to make sure that the train doesn't leave the track when any accidents occur. For now, most roller coasters adopt three-wheel-design. Each wheel contains an underfriction wheel, a running wheel and a side-friction wheel . As shown on the image above, the top two wheels are running wheels, which are used to bear the weight of train on the track and keep the train running. The running wheels may leave the track when the direction of the acceleration is upwards, however, the wheels on the bottom could prevent the train from the leaving the track. These wheels are underfriction wheel. In addition, Side friction wheels lie on the side of the track and they could hug the sides of the rail. These wheels help the train stay in the center of the two rails to keep the train from derailing.
2. Harness and safety

The other two rails are used to control the spin of the seats which allows the seats to move forward or backwards to add excitement.

Conclusion
Overall, all parts of my research have all be geared towards the topic: To what extent is a roller coaster designed by physical principles. Designing is the first step of construction of roller coasters. In order to ensure that completed roller coaster could run smoothly, the running state of the train must be considered in advance.
Clearly, physical principles have a irreplaceable role in almost every part of the roller coaster design. Then main physical principles involves Newton's Law of Motion, the law of conservation of energy, force analysis, and material mechanics, and these principles could be put into practice in either huge or tiny designs.
In addition, through my roller coaster model, I noticed that there are some designs which haven't be put into practice but feasible from the perspective of physical principles. Therefore, in the future, the style of roller coaster is likely to become more and more diverse when its corresponding techniques are

California has two amusement parks located relatively close to eachother. Knotts Berry Farm and Six Flags, which offer games, amusement rides, and great food. Sometimes it can be difficult to decide which park is best for your family, but not in this case. It’s very clear which park is better, but since you’re still weary i’m taking it upon myself to take an in depth look at both of them to tell you why Knotts Berry Farm is a total rip off compared to Six Flags. Let’s begin by comparing numbers of roller coasters and quality of roller coasters against each other.…

The railroad is one of the least recognized modes of transportation. Typically, unless well educated in this industry, one would overlook their services. Firstly, the railroad can be described as a nonstop delivering machine. Going as far back as the late 1700s, William Jessup designed wagons with flanged wheels. This allowed wagons to grip to the rails of the railroad which was an important aspect that later carried over to steam locomotives.…

This causes the elephants, lions, and giraffes to fall over and crash into each other. This showed me that the train was going really fast and stopped just as fast. Without the animals falling over I would not have been able to understand what the sudden brake caused. I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

In fact, if you have a fear that is just as bad as riding a roller coaster you can get over it, just like humans watch horror movies the face their fears and overcome them. Another example, in “Why We Crave Horror” Stephen King states that “horror movies may not surprise a scream out of us at some point, the way we may scream when the roller coaster twist through a complete 360 or plows through a lake at the bottom drop”(King “Why We Crave” 2). This explains that yes a scary movie can make you scared or afraid, but a roller coaster can make you feel scared but excited at the same…
