"Sorry mom", I sputtered. "It's... it's... I'm really scared", I said, with my voice shaking.
What if I fall off? What if the roller coaster stops at the top of the loop? I thought nervously as we walked over to the roller coaster.
"Dad, are you really going to take your phone and your hat? What if they fall out when we loop the loop? Or anywhere else?"
"Yep. They won't fall out. They are super safe!"
"Ok. Just making sure." I said with attitude.
"You may now board the roller coaster" said the deep voice over the intercom. I …show more content…
My mom didn't reply. She couldn't. She started to scream. I started to scream. It wasn't a bad scream, I was happy, but I couldn't keep the screams in any longer. The wind was pounding face. It felt like tiny rocks hitting my face one by one. I remembered right before we got on the roller coaster, there was a sign that said "REACHING SPEEDS OF 76 MPH!!!"
"Ooooooooh" Now that makes sense" I said sarcastically.
The last major obstacle was "the dirt bike hills". They were small, but they could upset you more than the other obstacles.
I was screaming, "Wheeeee!"at the top of my lungs for the rest of the ride.
When we pulled into the starting point, I was panting like a dog. Right after we climbed out of the roller coaster, I ran over to look at the pictures. The rest of my family walked over to the pictures to look at them with me. I cracked up at my brother's and dad's picture. Right after they had their share of laughing at the pictures, I begged my parents for another ride. I wanted to feel that sensation again. My brother gave me the stink eye and said to my parents innocently,
"But it made me sick and I almost threw …show more content…
But it's the last time."my dad said kindly.
"Fine."Tyler said disgustedly.
"Yes!"I shouted with joy.
For this ride, I sat with my dad instead. He didn't scream as much as my mom did, which made me feel safe. I could hear her screaming one row behind us. It sounded different this time.
"I feel the same excitement, but I know where all of the fun parts are. Dad, why does the roller coaster feel different?" I asked my dad curiously.
I saw things I hadn't noticed before. I saw a giant hotel that I was surprised I hadn't noticed. I also saw pools and restaurants. I listened to the crack, crack, crack, of the roller coaster again as we pulled into the starting point again.
"Awesome!!" I shouted over the chatter of people.
I learned that there was nothing to be afraid of. I overcame my fears of roller coasters and heights.
I had to shout, "I overcame my fear!"
"Rylan, we are in public.", came a soft voice from behind.
"Oh. Sorry!" I whispered. "I overcame my fears!", I whispered excitedly.
"You may now exit the roller coaster"said the deep voice over the intercom.
I looked over at the excited people ready to ride the roller coaster I was afraid of. I learned that there was nothing to be afraid of. My mom looked sick. So did my
