In the novel, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, by Mildred Taylor, and the poem “ Mother to son” by Langston Hughes, the characters faced many problems. First, in the book Roll of Thunder Hear My cry the book said that the Granger who is the owner of all of the land. Sold 200 acres of land to the logan family. Once the Granger found out that the logan family was black he immediately begged for his land back. But the logan family has stood their ground and is not selling their land back to him. And they are ready to fight for anything that comes their way.
