Views of Friendship From what I have read in chapters seven and eight of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor, Stacey Logan is confronted with two different views of friendship, both of which confuse him. First, Stacey finds his relationship with Jeremy Simms a white boy who likes the Logan Kids. Stacey was given a wooden flute from Jeremy Simms for Christmas. Jeremy is raised to to hate blacks, but he has made friends with the four Logan kids. Jeremy walks to school with the Logan kids everyday he does not care that his family hates blacks. Stacey can talk to Jeremy easier then he can talk to TJ. I think Jeremy is the one who Stacey should be friends with. Another friendship Stacey finds confusing is with TJ Avery a very unreliable
