Today I will be talking about stacey, a character in Mildred D.taylor's, book Roll of thunder Hear my cry.
Personality:
Stacey, first of all, is very loyal to his friends and his family, by this I mean that if there was a problem that his friends did and he was a part of it he would not tell on his friends. “Course now she give him a chance to get out of …show more content…
“The coat was too big for me and…….and T.J said it made me look like……... like a preacher and…….he said since it fit him just right, he’d he’d take it off my hands till i grow into it, then thataway all the guys would stop laughing at me .”(Taylor, 116) Though his loyalty makes up for him being so naive. If he was my friend I would know he would never blame me for anything. For example, the time when he persuaded his siblings, to help him dig a ditch so the bus filled with white kids, who would tease them would get stuck in it. He told them he will take all the blame, if they were caught. I dislike how he wants to be the man of the house, I am saying that he takes being the man of the house too far sometimes, sticking his nose into things he doesn't understand. “‘Mama’ ‘Stacey, what’re you doing up?’ ‘Let me help’ ‘Help with what?’ ‘With….with whatever’s the matter.’ Mama was silent a moment, then said softly, ‘’Thank you, Stacey, but big ma and i can handle it.’ ‘But papa told me to help you!’ ‘ And you do more than you know. But right now you could help me most by going back to bed. It’s a school day remember?’ ‘But, Mama-’ ‘If I need you,I’ll call you. I promise.’”(Taylor, 57)
Conclusion:
Stacey is a nice person. He is at the age of thirteen, which is the age of the transition to becoming a man, but sometimes he lets that go to his head, making him stubborn and annoying. He is very serious and loyal. Making him a good friend and brother. He still has a lot to learn about being an adult in his world, making him very naive and
