Would you ruin something you legitimately need, to stop something absolutely bad? Yeah? No? Well, in Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor that is what happens. There is this big loving family who has Mama, Papa, Big Ma, Cassie, Stacey, Little Man, and Christopher-John. They have a bunch of friends that they care about too. Papa ruins his cotton in order to stop the hanging of T.J., Mr.Morrison, and him.
As a result of the fire, Papa brought a bunch of people together. “You mean you been out there fighting that fire?” Jeremy nodded (Taylor 264). “My pa, and R.W. and Melvin too” (Taylor 264).
