Civil Justice In Sophocles Antigone

In the court of law, if one is thought guilty one shall either be proven guilty, or found innocent. The guilt of wrong-doings can eat away at some, or it can make them feel righteous in their doings. Antigone found her actions respectful toward the deceased. Creon found her doings against his decree; he sought to see her demise. Granted Creon sought Antigone’s demise; Antigone created her own. Although she disobeyed her king to respect her brothers’ dead body; Antigone found her demise. Antigone’s brother had died, and she had to respect the body in the name of Hades. Unfortunately, in paying respect by burying her brother in some way; she broke the law. Creon, the king at this time, found out some one was tampering with the bodies, and sent out his servants to find out who it was. When they came back with results, Creon decided Antigone’s fate. As one can see, Antigone’s situation was extremely different, and her prosecution was decided differently. Continuing on, Antigone knew if she was to be caught it would be her own demise. When Antigone was caught her sister tried to take part of her punishment. Antigone told her no, and it was to be her own fault if she died. As Antigone told her sister this, she kept going to the fact of her life would be fine with Antigone gone. Although, Antigone does not realize her demise is also the demise of others. Like the punishment she received, some houses now days are much like the strict rules Antigone had to follow. In some houses the father makes the rules, and can be a real stickler when it comes to following them. Also, there can be houses where the parents give you tons of lead way. The only way one can get the lead way taken from them is if they lie. As some could say, you can have six hundred feet of rope, and if you wrap it around your neck; I will gladly make your rope twenty feet long, and help you hang yourself. Although in some houses, one can get grounded, or get their possessions taken away from them. To wrap it all up, there will be different consequences for ones foolish actions, and different parents will deal with bad behavior differently. To end it off, like Antigone leading to her demise, and ruining many lives is a mistake commonly made these days. For example, when a person in a team sport is having an off day and one person is extremely upset with themselves. The person who is upset will drag down the whole team, and lead them to their own demise. Also, when a person in a business world makes a mistake on a presentation to their boss for a new client, and they mess up it destroys big plans for everyone in the company. All in all, as one should know, one mistake a person makes can be detrimental to many more people surrounding
