When have you shown your grittiest moments and how did that help you push through your problems to move on? Grit enables you to be able to hold on in circumstances that make you feel like you don't have a chance. In the movie, The Blind Side, Michael Oher was that kid and had a similar experience like this, where his life was changed by a family named the Tuohy's. Michael was not always gritty, but with the help of the Tuohy family encouraging him and showing him what family is really about, he gained more grit. With that he is able to start showing some grit because now he has a reason to keep fighting. This is how he starts showing some grit which is good considering the background he's coming …show more content…

You don't want to let them down do you?” (The Blind Side). By SJ pushing him and giving him encouraging words Michael is able to show more grit because he doesn’t want to disappoint his peers. Even though Michael wasn't sure if he wanted to play football because he didn't know a lot about it, SJ pushed him and showed him that he wasn't going to let him down. Michael realized that the family really wanted him to play football and because they didn't give up on him, he didn't want to give up on them. This was one time that he started to believe in himself because knew he had the
