Competing Values Framework Lens
Within the Competing Values Framework, the administrative roles which are the most appropriate include facets of the north east quadrant of the two dimensional model, between flexibility and external focus. In addition, the role towards expansion applies with adaptability/readiness as a means and growth/resource acquisition as an end. The other role which applies is on the south east quadrant that is towards the maximization of output which entails a means of planning and goal setting with an end of productivity and efficiency (Edwards, 1987, p.6). Both of the roles are on the external focus spectrum with inclusion of flexibility and control. A longer term goal is to be able to use the organization as a solid platform to advocate for LGBT legislatively. The financial resources utilized with be funding from the retail store and through community donations, and grant funds. Other resources include community involvement, having a professional credentialed staff, and volunteers. Some constraints include the overall social phobia associated with anything LGBT, funding, having adequate operating space, and community involvement due to intolerance. The activities include having individual/group sessions, community booths at events like fairs, participation in Pride events, volunteer opportunities, psycho-educational sessions pertaining to topics like rape and STD 's, cultural competency trainings for
