Her experience level is an advantage of her application because the company would not have to spend as must time training her on the policy and procedures of the company. Kathy is very familiar with the organization and the goals the company is striving to reach and has the knowledge to be a great plant manager. Davis is a loyal employee who has been with the company for ten years where the past seven years he has served as the assistant plant manager. Mr. Davis has experience in management and understands what the job of the plant manager entails based off his past job roles. He is aware of the expectations and understands the job roles of the plant manager considering he has served as the assistant plant manager for many years. Overall, he scores well in the personality profiles and is ranked high in the category to succeed as plant manager. One area that concerns me with his personality profile is his high score on ability to resolve conflict and his low score on interpersonal skills. Normally one cannot effectively communicate with employees if he/ she does not understand the basic concepts and principles of interpersonal communication. Davis scored the highest on the intelligent on the intelligence test and his interviews went well expect with his current plant manager. This low score could be due to the lack of interpersonal skills and presents an area that could use improvement. If he cannot communication …show more content…
Mr. Hall is the oldest candidate of my recommendations, but he has very impressive qualifications that make in a candidate for the plant manager position. Mr. Hall has the highest handwriting rating among these three candidates. This information severs as an indicator of how success the candidate will be in terms of being plant manager at the Pittsburg plant. Also, Mr. Hall had the highest interviewer ratings among all the candidates for consideration. A major downfall of Mr. Hall lies in his personality test and the scores of him being able to handle stress. He was given a low score on this section, while ranging in the medium or average category on all other levels. As a plant manager, Mr. Hall would have to learn how to adapt and handle stressful situations as he is the leader and motivator of many employees. Employees look to the plant manager to solve the problems and be the leader of the company in order for everything to run smoothly. If Mr. Hall was to get the job, he would have to learn how to successful handle and eliminate stressful situations in order to keep the employees and management focused on the goal of Dynamo. The ability to handle stressful situations is detrimental for a plant manager to overcome because if stress cannot be handled and dealt with, it will overcome the plant manager and be harmful to the company in terms of profitability and success. Therefore, Mr. Hall’s

The role of leadership is an essential aspect of an organization since it can determine the difference between success and failure. “Although leaders are gifted in different ways, with different personalities and varying skill sets, all leaders can grow, become more skillful, and become more competent so that they can achieve greater effectiveness” (Ledlow & Coppola, 2014, pp. 10).
