Prashant Neupane GOVT 2306- 73004 Professor Sharifian May 6, 2018 SLO 3 - House Committees The duties, responsibilities, and power as a member of the house of representative have always influenced me. Representing myself through such lower body and structure of government makes me understand more problems at a local level and hence, finding their solutions. House of representative play an important role to solve the problems of their district under their committees. For my district which is number twelve, I would do my best to serve my district with the help of good power, legislation, and committee. A district requires good vision and legislation for development so, one should be responsible towards their commitment to meet the goals

Agriculture is the backbone of the country and it not only helps to develop the food and demand aspects of the country but also boosts sales, supply, trade, exports, and economy. The committee protects forest lands and helps to develop lumber industry. It also looks out for the rural areas sectors like education, infrastructures and health services. Under this committee, there are thirteen state agencies like Department of Agriculture, Texas A & M Forest Service, Texas Apiary Inspection Services, Texas Wildlife Services etc. Texas is the second big state and has a lot of possibilities in agriculture. There are a lot of barren lands in Texas where many agricultural activities and industries can be established. The good climatic condition and fertile hot and humid temperature of Texas are suitable for cultivation and production. Being born in an agricultural country and having much idea of how the agricultural economy works, my placement in this committee is justified. Meanwhile, taking my district number twelve as an example, it has a lot of future in livestock field. The unemployment rate in my district is quite high compared to another district. Another main part is constituent service like federal grants, agricultural scholarship programs, training, vocational programs, empowerment, reminding rights and duties towards personal and community development are the things that are the best to carry-out because such programs will benefit the people of every age group in many fields directly or indirectly and their responsibility towards their community and district. Homestyle should be simple and be modest is the key. The main environment what candidate should have on the voters is that the voters should know that the agendas are not for personal benefit rather for best quality services to them and their locality in future. I would present my plans and work for it with full responsibility so that people would have faith and trust in my goals. In short, my goals meeting my people goals is the key to make people believe in you. Furthermore, I would provide education, training and do all other necessary activities that would relate my plans and goals with people. It is good to know who their legislators are but it is best when people will know their legislator by their works. Since, it is a big state, better than an expensive advertisement, a constant effort through education, regular activities towards the development of the area and responsibility of legislator itself are the key to solve the
