My eventual career goal is to be and administrator within either a healthcare facility or another company in the health care industry. This is something I am already on track to do. Currently I work for Lash Group, which is a division of Amerisourcebergen, as a benefit verification specialist. The advantage to working for Lash is that the company believes in promoting from within to higher positions. Employees are provided with the tools they need to advance their careers in several ways. To begin with the company has a learning portal that offers a variety of classes at no charge to the employee. This learning portal offers classes on a variety of topics including the Microsoft Office Suite and leadership courses. Lash also has a tuition …show more content…
At this time I feel this goal is something I can reach within the next 2-5 years. To earn this position I must work as a quality analyst for a minimum of one year. At this point I will have already earned my bachelor’s degree in health care management, which is also a requirement to be a team coordinator. In this position I would supervise between 15-25 employees. This position will require support from many different levels of employees and management. First I would need the support of the client my team works for. The client needs to have trust in the fact that I will be able to help my employees get the job done. I will also need the support of the program manager when it comes to my decisions about procedures and ones in regards to a person’s employment. Finally I will need the support of my employees. If the employees do not respect me as a manager it will be difficult to get anything …show more content…
While South Carolina is a beautiful state even after being here for 7 years it still does not feel like home. Pennsylvania still feels like home and that is where one of my sisters lives as well. The other part of my family lives here in South Carolina. Everyone is considering moving back to Pennsylvania but no plans are permanent yet. My fear is that I will get a great opportunity here in South Carolina with Lash but my desire to be near my family may cause me to choose living near family over the job. Not know where I want to live has held me back from applying for different positions within the company since I am still uncertain as to whether or not I want to
