This essay will show that humans need freedom to live their lives, but at the same time not too much freedom or we will make mistakes and end up endangering the whole human race.
A part of being modern is believing in the America. The American dream is for anyone that is willing to work for what they want, but it varies depending on who you are and your social status. If we all made the same amount and have the same then there is no freedom. But there has to be a clear line between freedom and inappropriate use of your freedom. One case of this inappropriate use of freedom would be creating technology that overruns us humans. In the last decade there has been a rise of new advanced technology. With this new technology there needs to be laws in place to protect people from being overrun by this technology. If there aren’t than in just a couple years the human race could be in danger of being overrun by robots. As Ray Kurzweil says in his article “An evolutionary process accelerates because it builds on its own means for the future evolution. We are creating intelligent entities in considerably less time that it took the evolutionary process that created us. Human intelligence-a product of evolution-has transcended it, So, too, the intelligence of its creators.” This shows that in order to assure safety from being overrun there needs to be laws so that technology doesn’t take over.
