Q 01: Keeping in view the Mintzberg’s managerial roles, which managerial role Uzma and Ahmed are performing? Justify your answer

Answer:

Keeping in view the Mintzberg’s managerial roles, Uzma was performing the following roles.
i. Figurehead ii. Leader iii. Liaison

FIGUREHEAD:
In the view of above scenario Uzma was performing one of the figurehead role because according to Mintzberg the person who is handling the legitimation activities i-e singing legal documents and performing the other number of duties that’s mean is playing a figurehead role in the organization.

So, the below roles were belonging to him as under:
i. Disturbance handler ii. Leader iii. Negotiator

DISTURBANCE HANDLER:

In this role, you need to excel at conflict resolution and know how to handl team conflict It's also helpful to be able to manage emotions in your team in the above scenario one role of Ahmed is disturbance handler because, he is the one handling those situations when an organization was suffering in unexpected disturbance.

LEADER:
Ahmed was supportive for his staff so, that’s mean he was acting as a leader in his organization. He was responding rapidly and doing the needful for the employees.

NEGOTIATOR:
It is clearly mentioned in above third paragraph, Ahmed is very organized and has a lot of experience in union contract participation. If we will define the negotiator that mean a person who is taking part directly or indirectly important negotiations with in other departments and their team members of his organization is called negotiator. So, he was also as a negotiator for his organization.

Sameen should know about the critical contingencies facing by Uzma and Ahmed and also by the organization in the shape of funding issue by the federal government, staff salaries. Sameen must plane for alternative resources to fix these issues.

ORGANIZING:
In organizing section Sameen should follow the division of work i-e what are the main obstacles and how it will be done and who is to do it. Sameen need to be determine what are the tasks needing to be done in timely manners. As I mentioned in first line about the division of work she should organize their responsibilities according to their departments and their job capabilities.

LEADING:
As a leader, she should resolve the conflict between staffs and the organization. She should command both parties with the high patience. She can use the social and informal resources to achieve the organizational goals without any hurdle. With the use of human skill’s, and technical skills, she can motivate her staff.
