When I was in my early teenage years in middle school there were newspapers that were given to all of the students. I had picked up this news article and had read the issue of child soldiers in foreign countries. By reading this topic I was exposed to this horrifying truth of how other children were being treated. This lead me to question the events around me and to see if there was some type of action that I could have done. This is how the media influenced me. That to me explains why so many people feel pressured about finding "the one" or being in relationships. And of course younger people are affected by this the most. What Heather says is very true. There are many times in our social society when there are these new gadgets can have impact on those who are willing to try them out. There are many people around my age who are rarely taking social route of communicating with others face to face. Rather most of their interactions are done through these mobile devices which can severely impact of how these future generations are heading to. Caitlin Isom states,” I believe that our media is one of the most shaping influences in our society today, and that much of what we take for granted as truth is simply a longtime result of these influences, instilled in us over time. These messages often tell us who and what we should be in accordance with gender, age, etc. And more often than not, we listen.
