Introduccion
Every day the patients interact with managers and leaders and see how they manage their employees or contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the unit and the institution without the quality of service offered to patients and their family is affected. It is said that leaders are not born, but made, can differ from this thought because I believe that people are born with individual characteristics and unique personality. The knowledge and skills acquired such as methods of problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills are some strategies that will help the staff develop as leaders. A manager and a leader have similarities and differences that may influence or may not be a leader or manager that the groups accept and follow. There are different types of leadership and depending on what they choose is the success that they will have. A leader is an example to follow and imitate in many cases because employees tend to emulate their leader. As leaders should be governed by the canons of ethics of the profession and be a leader or manager does not mean that it can impose only in the opinion of the leader without hearing the opinion of others. The leaders and managers can not leave aside the values as these in conjunction with ethics is what will indicate how they should behave and demonstrate if they are acting the wrong way. Meet the established goals, make the changes will be accepted and are implemented it is a responsibility of the leader and manager where there is to include the staff to feel part of the team and to coloborate.
