Role Of Clarisse In Fahrenheit 451

This week we have lost one of our favorite and most adored book character. Clarisse. Clarisse was by far my favorite in the book. She was always being encouraging to break the status quo and don’t be like other people at least from the impression I got from her. She stood out from the rest and did not act like the others therefore breaking the status quo. On page 44 we were delivered the devastating news of Clarisse Mcclellan's death. Montag was as devastated as I was to hear that she had died. I do not think this was a coincidence. Clarisse was different, she was the only one that knew things from the world beyond the Fahrenheit 451 society. The whole purpose of this society and the way they live their lives is to not think and not express

Bradbury uses Clarisse to describe how the common people behave in the novel. Their world is the exact same everyday, containing the same meaningless phrases that people say for no reason other than to socialize. No one can mention anything else but these phrases that they are given, because their lives are so bland that there is really nothing else to add. With this, Clarisse is hinting at how tedious the world now is due to the fact that there are no books or ideas going around for people to contemplate about. This simply states that no one can say anything else, because no one knows anything else.…

This event made it particularly clear to me that, had my brothers and I not cooperated, Noir would have most likely not been found. It would have been overwhelming for a single person to continuously search without sleep and rest. We immediately split responsibilities. Two of us went out looking while the third began producing 'lost cat' signs. During this event I recall thinking that Noir must've been wondering where his bed, food, and humans were and that he might die alone and afraid.…
