Sophocles's Antigone is one of many Greek tragedies of his time. The serious tone contributes to the act of civil disobedience directed against the king’s decree not to bury Antigone's brother. Civil disobedience is where people protest the government or organization but protest peacefully. At the beginning of the play Antigone was all fired up about Creon’s decree, but later she just hangs herself.
