Living as a socially responsible member of American Society, there are many components to achieve as a responsible individual in Society. Being Socially Responsible means that people and organizations must behave ethically and with sensitivity to social, cultural, economic and environmental issues (Naomi Eveldson). An individual must fulfill their civic duties to be socially responsible. If an action doesn’t benefit or it causes harm to society or the environment, it would be considered socially irresponsible (Pachamama Alliance 2). To be Socially Responsible in American Society, a good moraled person must develop leadership, and communicate with others. In the article in source six, “Responsible Use of Social Media,” by The Monterey County Office of Education, it states that students can help delete negativity on social media by posting positively, reporting anything inappropriate, informing adults about negativity online and blocking inappropriate people (Monterey County Office of Education 9). These movements could be useful to prevent cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is an act of harassing someone online by sending or posting negative messages, usually anonymous. By following these tips of taking responsibilities online, it will benefit the society and everybody. Furthermore, from my own experience, a friend of mine was getting a lot of hate and negative comments on direct messaging on Instagram by this one particular person from our school. Instagram Direct lets you send messages to one or more people. Nevertheless, I thought it was unsuitable for someone to do that on social media, so I decided to go tell an adult around the campus. Both individuals talked it out after the incident. I, myself, a socially responsible being, I chose to alert an adult to prevent it from happening again. I took responsibility and stepped up for a friend which made me take responsibility to prevent no harm. Executing one's responsibilities on social media helps prevent negativity online such as
