She was born with a right collapsed lung and needed the help of a C-pap machine to breath for the first day of her life. She had other small issues due to her being early, but after nineteen long days she could finally come home. Even though she could come home she had to come home with an apnea monitor, because there were times she would forget to breath and we would have to stimulate her in order to get her to take a breath. Taking care of a newborn is hard work, but taking care of a newborn who has a monitor that goes off in the middle of the night when she has an episode of sleep apnea, is enough to stress any normal parent out. This is when her father decided that he would turn to drinking, now I had been with her father for years and he had never been a drinker, and he had never laid a hand on me, but as the situation became more stressful he drank more excessively. The more he drank, the more we would fight, and the simple task of grabbing me a diaper would cause havoc. Then one night he went out drinking with his friends and I was feeling rather ill, so I asked him if he could come home and take care of the baby while I tried to sleep. He came home hours later rather drunk, yelled at me and pushed me down a flight of stairs while I held my baby for dear life. I then asked him to leave.
