Being a medical and health service manager leaves you with a lot of responsibility. A few list of things a medical and health service managers have to do, they are always trying to find ways to improve the efficiency and quality in delivering effective health services to the clients. They also find, train and supervise employees. They create the schedules of everyone in their department and develop goals for the department. They make sure the facility in which they work in is up to date on all of the new laws and regulations. Medical and health service managers represent their facility to investors. The ones I have are the analytical skills, meaning I must understand and follow current regulations and adapt to new laws. Communication skills are a very important asset to any jobs one with I don’t have a problem with either. Communications is very important because the manager may need to contact doctor’s office or insurance companies. The last one that I feel comfortable saying I feel like I have is being up to date with the technology part of it. Technology is a very important key as well as all of the others, because in this day and age we use our computers, cell phones, equipment is all a part of technology and is changing every day so you need to be very good with it and accept all of the change that comes with it the technology that will better benefit the healthcare facility you choose to be at. A few more traits that I would say are very important are leadership, and being detail oriented. Leadership is a key because you are the leader in that department people with be depending on you to make choices, and answering the questions they may have. Being detailed oriented is a must because you will be keeping track of files, finances, schedules and many other things, and in order to keep all those up to date and in the correct places you will need to be very detailed oriented and organized. I would like to graduate with my bachelor’s degree within 2-3 years even though its looking more like four years. Then I would like to take the NHAL and RC/AL exam’s just in case I’d like to work in different health care settings. I already have experience in an administrative role in a healthcare setting. I am still deciding what type of manager I would like to be, and in what type of facility I would like to work in. Thankfully I am just starting my college career so I have plenty of time to choose what path of manager and what facility I enjoy finding that out through this journey and having Kaplan help me find the right fit for
