The play shows how Macbeth started working for his own future and tried to overcome any obstacles is his way. This is proved when he killed his loyal friend Banquo in order to protect his crown. The killing of Banquo is the climax of the play, and it also proves the highest Macbeth is willing to go to ignored to protect his crown. Macbeth starts obsessing with protecting his crown, however, he does not realise that what he is doing to obtain power will be the reason of his tragic and fatal downfall. Other that being king, Macbeth starts becoming a ruthless, immoral person, and that helps in leading him to his downfall.
In conclusion, Macbeth’s high ambitions for the throne, which are affected by many factors, are the main reasons for his tragic downfall.
