What is role play?
Role play is a kind of pretend play in which your kid gets into a character, acts out a role or enacts a social or real life situation. It can be as simple as ‘acting mamma’ to her favorite doll. It can involve slightly complex activities such as playing the role of a teacher, police officer, gardener or motor mechanic, which require her to have knowledge of the occupations she acts out. Once your kid starts going to school and playing with other kids, she may even use props and costumes to bring more real life touch to the roles she enacts.

She learns those norms through active social interactions and conversations. During role play, your little one is exploring new social roles and figuring out ways to boost social interactions.
