My Role Model For Me

Decent Essays
Throughout my life, I have had a great abundance of role models . There are many individuals that I look up to, however, there is one particular woman who has inspired me to be the person I am today. This woman just happens to be one of my high school teachers. Mrs. Gina Couch is, to this day, one of the most awe-inspiring, inspirational women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Mrs. Couch, always wants the best for her students, she is one of the most strong and courageous women I have ever met , and she was an independent mother who always puts her children before herself. Because of these reasons, she has helped me grow to be a person that I hope will make her proud. I first met Mrs. Couch in eighth grade. From the span of eighth …show more content…
Couch, without a doubt, has to be one of the strongest women I have ever met. As I said before, she has two children, Reagan and JJ . Her husband passed away a few years ago due to a very long battle with cancer. Her husband had gotten sick about a year prior to his passing. All throughout that year, there had been numerous doctors visits and hospital stays. Even through all of the madness that she was going through, she never showed any weakness to her children or her students. When her husband was not in the hospital, she was at school. She never took a break, even if it was offered to her. When her husband passed away right at the end of summer vacation, she had every right and every opportunity to just take a break from teaching to rest and grieve. She, however, never even considered this opportunity. Mrs. Couch came back that school year with the same drive and love for her students that she had before all of the chaos erupted in her life. She never wanted special treatment or attention from anyone. Even at the worst time in her life, she still cared for her children and her students. I envy the strength that she possesses. I still, to this day, look back to that time, and I am inspired by the grace and strength that she showed to everyone around

A role model is a person that is looked up to or is an example to be imitated. In “True Story of Lake Ontario” a failed Olympic swimmer attempts a treacherous swimming expedition across Lake Ontario. Similarly a slightly precarious mountain climber makes her risky journey up Mount Everest in “Sharon Woods: No Limits”. Though both women are strong and sturdy role models, one is to a certain extent superior to the other. Even though Marilyn had become an outstanding rile model during her long twenty-one hour trek across Lake Ontario, she still has some flaws to her character.…

One person has always had the power to make a difference in another’s life. Whether that be a family member teaching a little one kindness, or even on a bigger scale Martin Luther King Jr. leading a revolution to the acceptance of people with different colored skin. Even bad people can make a change for the good, like a school shooter who makes schools realize they need a plan in place for an attack on their students. One person can change the way others think entirely and can impact their lives in a major way. Lori Ann Heyden, my grandmother, had made a huge impact in my life.…

Growing up with a very predominant Vietnamese influence within my household impacted every aspect of my daily life, from how I was raised as a child to how I see the world currently.
