She is a secretary of the Veterans’ Hospital of Loma Linda (how my parents met) and very respectable at work. She is currently planning on getting her Associate’s’ Degree in order to pursuit more opportunities in her career. My mom always taught me to become independent because that what she was during her childhood. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and had two younger sisters to look after as her single mother was constantly working to provided food and shelter for them. Thus, she founded her favorite hobby when caring her two younger sisters—cooking and baking. She loves to provide big meals for the family because food always brings together, regardless of the situation at hand. Both of my mother and father shared equally of the business that occurs in the house. When I was a child, my parents would change shifts (Dad would work in the mornings, while my mother would worked at nights) to make sure Maurice and I were well taken care of due to our condition. Currently, my Dad controls the flow of the money and paid off the bills while my mother makes sure the money is spent wisely. My family has a healthy relations with one another. Even though our personalities are total opposites—it works in a way because we can easily resolved and offered criticisms to our actions without being bias. Even in the times of stress—such as my Dad being hospitalized—we were able to cope with the problems and focus on our attention to make sure my Dad gets the proper treatment needed—and making sure the household is still kept in check as my Dad is absent.
