Role models are needed to teach people how to live their lives in the best way possible. In “Davita’s Harp” by Chaim Potock there are many characters, which exemplify positive characteristics. Ilana Davita is one of these characters. She is a good role model because she is independent and because she uses her imagination to cope with difficult events that take place in her life. These qualities make her a good role model because they demonstrate mental toughness. Ilana Davita is characterized as an independent person. Curiosity about religion leads her to read the bible and talk to her Aunt Sarah in order to learn about Christianity.
