Roger's Leadership In The Military

The smell of smoke and the falling of ashes was a sign of defeat that would not be tolerated. It’s December 8, 1941, the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor and Roger Protankscy and his squadron had just been ordered to be transported onto the USS Missouri. Roger was a strong and robust man fit for a soldier, but it wasn’t just his physical outlook that made him a commander of twenty of the best soldiers in the world it was his ways of leadership that stood out. Roger had a right-hand man and his name was George. He had spent his whole life in the military and a military family. George was known for his marksmanship and camouflage skills making him a lieutenant commander under Roger. Roger and his men were in part of the Seal Team Six and …show more content…
The communications man was giving orders to call back to the ship for some help. The admiral had gotten the message and ordered a rescue boat to get them, but they had to destroy the guns for the mission to be successful. Now the tension had built up and the Seals with sweat pouring down their faces were by themselves until they find a solution. The only way out of that sticky situation would be where some of the marines would have to distract the enemies attention so that the others could get around the opposition and strike them hard. “George! Take three men and distract the enemies so that we can get around them!” Roger exclaimed. “You got it. Ok, you three follow me,”ordered Lieutenant …show more content…
George took up position behind a rock and shot at the enemy with such accuracy that the enemies couldn’t even fire back without being hit, but George and his buddies couldn’t take down all of them so they just shot bullets in the direction of the enemy. The enemy had taken the distraction and it was time for the fighting to begin. “Ok men, we have to circle around the enemy to surprise them while they are occupied with George and his men,” said Roger through his radio. They took advantage of the moment and ran to through the vines, leaves, and roots of the jungle trees. They loaded their guns, readied them, and fired. One by one the enemies dwindled and the gunfire subsided. After an hour of guerrilla fighting, there was silence. The only thing you could hear was the sound of the birds chirping and the rustle of leaves. “Is everyone ok?” Roger asked “All fine and dandy after that battle,” said George, “ but we got some casualties over here, care to help?” “On our way,” answered Roger. The six men they lost brought sorrow to Roger and his men. Roger, especially, felt angry at himself for letting his men die in battle. However, they still had a mission to accomplish. They checked the surroundings for any more enemies, then they planted C4s on the artillery guns and got as far away as possible from the explosion radius of the C4. “Ba-Boom!”

Dade’s Massacre Government policy of Indian removal would be seen by the American people as not only reasonable but essential to the interest of America. President Monroe has stated flatly that they should be removed or concentrated within narrow limits so that those slaves trying to seek sanctuary within the Seminoles territory was against in ever senses the capital investment of slave owners, because the Seminoles just simply saw them as men and women. This made things in the south difficult, so in 1823 the limits of Seminoles land had been change to the Seminoles being pushed into the swaps of Florida some 60 miles wide by 120 miles long. “One is left with the horrible feeling now that war settles nothing; that to win a war is as disastrous as to lose one” (Agatha Christie). To begin, this quote exemplifies how soldiers are left with the feeling that war solves nothing since the events haunt them through their disabilities. Soldiers are left with a permanent impression on their lives through the injuries they experience from war, like the loss of a limb or nightmares of such tragic events that would scare even the most intrepid(1) soldier. By the same token, this quote illustrates soldiers who are faced with the distress and longing desires to flee from the trauma which they have encountered during their service. The death of those they have fought with, cried with, and faced…
