The situation between Rogers Communications Inc. and Aliant Inc. left me feeling like many clauses in contracts are usually over looked or are not read properly. This case is no different except that it cost Rogers Communications Inc. an extra 2.13 million dollars in extra fees that they did not foresee. I do believe that AliantInc. was looking out for its best interest because the poles that were being used by Rogers was owned by the Fredericton-based utility NB Power previously before being signed off to AliantInc. The courtfound that Aliant Inc was in their right to give Rogers a year notice before raising their prices, I agree with their findings. The clause stated exactly what was being offered to them and what could possibly happen, although
