My Rogerian essay was about cameras and the invasion of privacy, the claim that I was trying to make was to show how cameras either in public areas or private properties can be beneficial and I too tried to explain how these cameras were invading the privacy of others. I was not trying to win any arguments since it was a Rogerian style essay but I tried to pursued and showed some common ground by proposing to have all privately owned cameras encrypted and only the police would be able to decrypt the cameras when a crime has occurred or when it is necessary to review the contents of the cameras. Without credible sources to back up your evidence, no one will take you seriously. With modern day blogging, any man or woman can write anything they want, so credible sources are the key component to a successful essay. It helps me to build my essay into a great one compared to my two essays that I have been done in this course. I learned that I should not stick into one side. For example, in my Essay 2, I should have given pros and cons not just only one side because I mostly give pros and not cons. This is like where I need to balance the arguments between each side.…

Argumentative Essay Ben Franklin once wrote, “Well done is better than well said.” In simpler terms, Franklin is stating that actions are better than words. While actions and words are both elements that can be manipulated to fit a given situation, one is usually more efficient in solving problems, defining character, and accomplishing goals. In the novels Unbroken and Maus, the actions of the characters prove to be the most vital asset in their survival by helping them overcome obstacles and giving their lives meaning and purpose. On the other hand, The Scarlet Letter illustrates that being unable to transform words into actions makes one emotionally and mentally weaker.…

Literary Analysis In the novel Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut he uses a narrator to describe to us the story but not any of characters in the story. We almost have to trust that the narrator is not leading us on a path that is the wrong interpretation on the book because it is his opinion. I am going to explore why possibly Vonnegut using a narrator to tell us the story may have been the best way instead of any of the others character especially the one that the story is named after Harrison Bergeron. Hazel couldn’t have possibly been a candidate because of her being perfectly average would make the story to simple.…

For a middle ground essay, ill get to offer my opposing side’s argument and my supporting claims. Therefore, as a writer I have to bridge both opposing claims by coming up with their common points and negotiating a different position. To do this, I have to follow a certain processes. First as a writer, I must be able to state the issue or topic on my first paragraph.…

Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…
