There is one court case that many people known to have set the form of american abortion law which is “Roe vs. Wade” ( Norma, 1973). This started in which the supreme court saw the pregnant women as having a constitutional right according to the fourteenth amendment. The right is to choose to terminate her pregnancy before any practical means as part of her freedom of personal choice in family matters. However, in 2003 a plaintiff asked for the decision to reversed as a safety issue to the women.
The decision for the reversal was overturned by a vote of seven to two which concluded that the court justices saw the government lacked the power to make abortion illegal. Although Jane Roe won this case she case created the trimester system. This consists of giving the women the right to have an abortion as long as it’s within the three month pregnancy term. There will always be controversial social matters to this issue but all women are different and all women have different reasons why they choose this option. Women can be judged and always will be judged but people need to understand the impact it has on them. Physically and mentally people are affected and cause them to do or say irrationally things.
