Dreisbach writes “The systems of natural resources are very complex and understanding and respecting them is the most effective way to maintain their integrity” (Dreisbach). Yes, not all of the trash belongs to one person and that it why we all need to take part clean up. Respecting our community’s health is an option that can only be taken with everyone's cooperation. While writing about the necessity of respect, Dreisbach also describes that “The key to a sustainable future is living in a conscious and respectful way, stewarding the energy and resources we use, and wisely planning for current and prospective needs” (Dreisbach). The harming choices we make are not well thought out so if we become a little more conscious, things will begin to change. Helpful, environmentally friendly choices cannot just be made by some, it must be executed by everyone. Johnson provides examples of overlooked ways trash is hurting animals. She explains that “tossed from car windows, it puts curious animals in the path of oncoming vehicles” (Johnson). Such a simple act can do so much harm and not even be noticed. Holding onto the trash is an effortless task that will help the strength of lives in Colorado. And when people do throw their trash on the ground it must take someone to take responsibility and easily pick it up
